Artifacts

A captain wears one artifact at a time, and artifacts move between captains freely.

How they work

An artifact carries main bonuses that depend on its level and its stars, and several random ones.

There are five stars, each made of five parts. Fragments advance a part, every part raises the main bonus, and completing a whole star opens one more slot for a random bonus.

Fragments are claimed in the Summoning Circle. The artifact menu itself is the circular icon at the top left of the captain management window.

Artifacts open up as soon as you unlock level 4 guardsmen — no building or research gates them.

The random bonuses

Besides the main ones, an artifact rolls a set of random bonuses out of its own pool.

A random bonus rolls rare, epic or legendary: the better the rarity the bigger the number and the rarer the roll.

Rerolling changes every slot at once and you see the new set before committing. What it costs depends on how many of the bonuses you lock first.

A locked bonus survives the reroll.

Five slots at most, one per full star, and each artifact rolls from its own pool.

What a full artifact costs

Unlocking an artifact puts it at star level 0.1, so the first part is never paid for separately.

The two Seasonal Kingdom artifacts cost 200 fragments to unlock instead of 50, a flat 50 for every part after that, and no star level caps their level.
