Captain tiers

All thirty captains sorted by how much they are worth having, S down to D. Every entry says why, because the letter on its own is worth very little — what you want to know is what the captain is for, when it stops paying, and who does the same job better.

Opinion, not game data

What a captain gives per level, what each star adds and what it costs are figures the game states. A tier is not. This page is one player's judgement of what those numbers are worth in practice, and a good player with a different account may well rank them differently.
