The enchantments are not a reward for scoring — they come out of the crypts themselves.
Open only a crypt you can finish in one run. And only the plain crypt bonuses cut the tar — the epic-crypt ones do nothing at all.
Fire salamander squads spawn alongside the trial, and beating them pays Salamander Tails. The Tails are the score.
Its rewards pay Lava Oil — about what two whole fountains give — and it is the only way to top up once the stage has started.

The crypt
The crypt this stage is about, and the only one of its kind. It is not on the map the rest of the year: it appears with the stage and goes with it.
It takes Lava Oil and nothing else, and nothing else spends Lava Oil.
